Skincare has always been becoming one of my biggest concern. There was a time when I used many skincare products and layered them on my skin every morning and night. But then, my skin acted out and that was when I called it quits. Layering skincare products isn't necessarily bad, it's just that my skin is such a rebel. Sigh.
After running out of my second jar of Innisfree's Green Tea Face Cream, I considered to repurchase another jar. But then I decided not to because as much as I loved the Innisfree one, I needed something more as a night-time moisturizer. So I chose to buy The Bath Box I'll be Perfect Facial Oil instead. I had wanted to buy it for quite some time anyway. So how does it work on my skin?
It is targeted for oily and acne-prone skin. It comes in a dropper glass bottle; 0.7oz/20ml. This should last me for about four to five months. Here are the ingredients:
cucurbita pepo (pumpkin) seed oil, carthamus tinctorius (safflower) oil, pongamia glabra seed oil, tocopherol (vitamin E), rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf oil, melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) leaf oil, mentha piperita (peppermint) oil.
The scent is lovely which is a mix of those essentials oils mentioned above.
So how I use it: damp the skin with DIY green tea mist (or just simply, water) and pat the oil lightly afterwards. Always remember to use the oil on a damp skin!
Okay, after three months of usage, how do I feel? I'm going to exaggerate things, but for me this is miracle in a bottle. I rarely breakout anymore. Well, I do still get little bumps here and there, but rarely the big, red, noticeable ones. I can feel that my skin is smoother and brighter. The dark spots are also slowly, but surely, fading.
Based on my experience, it doesn't do much on controlling the oil production or tightening the pores, keep that in mind. And you will still wake up with an oil slick on your face, or even worse. Keep that in mind, too.
In conclusion, it does neither control any oil production nor tighten the pores (maybe a bit), but it's been working well on my skin and I'm fairly satisfied with it. I used to use products with claims of keeping any oil at bay and obsessed with matte skin as well. But lately, nah, waking up with an oil slick isn't always a bad thing LOL and when I get oily throughout the day, I just need to blot them. So, I will likely repurchase until I find a better night-time moisturizer.
